Manoa International Exchange
MIX is one of the two study abroad opportunities that is offered at UH. They offer programs for all majors and a wide variety of exchange opportunities for both semester and year-long and even summer programs.

Requirements for MIX Application:

Cumulative GPA of 2.5 or higher

Minimum of 2 completed semesters at UHM

Recommendation letter from a UHM professor

Valid Passport

$80 application and administration fee

Complete your university's secondary application
The MIX application is online, and fairly simple to fill out. There are a couple of short essay questions and you will be asked to list your top five partner universities.
A month or two after the deadline, MIX will send you an email notifying you of your nomination, and after accepting the nomination you will be sent another email containing a next-steps list. Next steps include submitting a health clearance form, applying for a visa, applying for health insurance and figuring out course/credit transfers.

You'll then be emailed by your nominated school and sent a secondary application. Your school will then send you an acceptance letter.

Health insurance?
MIX has a health insurance plan that you'll be required to enroll in. It's $1 per study abroad day.
I only speak English!
All of MIX's partner schools offer courses taught in English so don't worry!
